Grid ceilings are a type of suspended ceiling that have a grid design 1. They are also known as T-grid ceilings, as they are supported by a T-shaped grid system 2. The grid system is made up of main Ts, cross Ts, wall angles, level clips, and soffit cleats 3. The main Ts are suspended by the suspension system and carry the weight of the grid system. They have a system of interlocking with each other to provide an additional length and thus form a continuous mesh across the space where they are used. Cross Ts are used intermittently at specified distances and are interlocked with the main Ts. Wall angles are fixed to the perimeter of the wall at the ceiling level to hold the main Ts and give a finish when it terminates on the wall. Level clips help suspend the main Ts from the soffit cleat. The dimensions of these components vary depending on the product range
